This wonderfully named plant of the Agavaceae family is mostly memorable for the wrong reasons; as you will possibly have seen it in areas where it is generally neglected, this being because the 'Mother-in-laws tongue' can survive just about anywhere, with little change to it's sword shaped leaves.
The Sansevieria's leathery dark green, yellow striped leaves can grow to around 40-50cm long, and will appear more attractive and glossy the better they are cared for – they generally prefer partial shade and dry conditions, and is a popular indoor plant due to it's robust nature.
