Thai Garden Design recently constructed a complete playground area for children with special needs at a school in Bangkok. The garden scope was to include two large hardscape terrace areas, with pathways, as well as some playground recreational facilities and a place to sit outside in the shade.
Bright, interesting and colourful terraces were constructed, made from flat stone and pebbles, so the children can sit or play off the grass during wet periods. The planting plan was also designed to be ‘hard-wearing,’ and low maintenance, more suited to children running around than a normal garden.
A covered seating area was built in one corner, to give the kids somewhere to ‘chill out’ and shelter under cover from the elements, with some privacy hedgerows added to separate the garden from the adjacent football pitch.
