The team at Thai Garden Design have just finished installing this new grass lawn and seafront garden for an expat couple in Kuiburi. The design phase presented some challenge, with the planting plan needing to focus on plants and trees suitable to withstand the salty sea air, plus possibility of splash back from breaking waves during more stormy periods.
The owner was very keen to have a nice green grass lawn surrounding the pool, and as the couple were working and travelling a lot the team also installed a fully automatic Hunter sprinkler system, connected to both rainwater and city water tanks, to ensure full coverage whilst the couple were out of town. Also included as part of the build were tall privacy hedges along the perimeter, a barb wire fence and various pathways and rock gardens.
Large amounts of sand had to be removed from the garden, instead replaced with good quality soil to ensure the success of the lawn.
