A common flowering shrub native to South East Asia, the เข็มชมพู, or Ixora Coccinea is a tangled and multi branched evergreen shrub that has small oblong green shaped leaves with circular clusters of pink and scarlet flowers, which, when fully flowered, appear much larger and brighter than in the picture.
They can grow up to 12ft tall, although it is much more common to see them between 3-6ft. They are excellent warm climate hedges, and as the picture shows are great when used to fill out rockeries and the spaces between large ornamental stones.
The Jungle Geranium is also popularly referred to as the 'flame of the woods' and the 'jungle flame'.
