The team at Thai Garden Design recently completed this large sloping landscape in Hua Hin. The owners were having a new guest house constructed, a new pool and wanted the garden to be new and improved along with these other additions. The team visited and produced a garden design, which was adapted over several days and budgets were submitted and approved.
Initially the garden was landscaped using the expertise of the team and a large digger. Levels and terraces were created and approved by the owner.
The stream was excavated, piled and concrete foundation poured. Brickwork walls were constructed in a curved design, meandering across the garden. Steps were also installed at key locations making access across the landscape easy.
Large natural boulders were positioned and cemented into position across the top edges of the stream.
In stream extends some 20m down the garden, with tropical planting, pebbles and new grass, ensuring the new garden is much more vibrant and eye catching.
The stream itself is fed by a swimming pool, converted into a fish pond (a later post on this will be posted soon).
Once the water reaches the foot of the stream, it is recirculated back up to a waterfall which has been constructed at one side of the converted swimming pool. Filtration occurs before the water is pumped back up to the swimming pool.

The new garden is a picture; a complete contrast from the previous sloping garden.
This new terraced garden also includes a relaxation sala, centrally located between the house and the entrance, with a hardwood bridge across the new stream. Planting and grass have transformed the landscape, and a fully automatic sprinkler system operates twice a day, keep all the new plants and grass healthy.
