Key: (1) Stone paver on grass (2) Thai sala for dinner & relaxation (3) Decked area leading up to sala and from house terrace (4) Wooden sleeper pathway on grass (5) Bamboo fence
This house is a normal example of thousands of urban homes in cities across Thailand. Detatched, with large driveway space and room for gardens running along the sides and / or back of the property. Many have heavily shaded regions, but that doesn't mean you should put up with balding patches of grass / bad planting.
In this example, the design incorporates a modern deck leading up to a new Thai sala area, easily accessible, and surrounded on both sides by tropical plants and attractive landscaping. Stone pavers at (1) maybe existing stones, but put together more attractively with grasses growing up through the spaces.
The back of the garden is mainly an open lawn area with some planting, ideal for children or just general free time. The back wall is concealed partially by a bamboo fence (easily maintained) and the sleeper steps are unobtrusive and attractive.
