Another popular and traditional feature of a Thai garden is the artificial stone or pebble mountain, known as the khao mor.
Rocks and stones are often cemented together to make up an impressive garden feature. These were very popular within Thai palaces, with the khao mor mountain being the centre point location for many traditional ceremonies.
Often, a khao mor mountain will be the centre of a pond or pool, or will include a waterfall, adorned with lots of greenery and tropical plant life.
In smaller gardens, a khao mor mountain may be miniturised, or possibly included in pots throughout areas of the garden.
