• Perlite – 3 Liters
  Perlite is a 100% natural volcanic mineral, similar to vermiculite. It has excellent water retention properties but with fewer pores and better drainage than vermiculite. Lightweight and porous, expanded perlite is widely used as a soil conditioner — loosening heavy clay soils, preventing compaction, improving aeration, and enhancing water drainage.
• Perlite is made from siliceous volcanic rock that is rapidly heated to around 1,400°F (760°C), expanding into sponge-like, lightweight white granules. It is commonly used alone or in a 50/50 mix with vermiculite (although such a mix may hold too much moisture in certain cases).
• Perlite is generally neutral to slightly acidic, with low pH buffering capacity and no cation exchange ability. Its white surface can encourage algae growth under high humidity or hydroponic systems — harmless to plants but potentially clogging irrigation tubes.
• It is sterile, weed-free, odorless, and disease-free, making it an excellent medium for seed germination, propagation, hydroponics, and general soil conditioning.
