The landscape team at Thai Garden Design recently finished off this large ‘water wall’ feature and pond, with Thai style sala and WPC decking at a residents resort home at a popular fishing park in Cha am, Prauchuap Khiri Khan.
Engaging with the customer at the building phase of the home, this was the perfect time to plan and design the main features of the project (picture above: the front of the resort home, before the team had arrived).
The pond stretches across the whole front of the property, around 10 meters across, and 4 meters out. The pond walls are also finished in the same style as the other houses within the resort, with stone cladding, and a flat concrete topping. The pond itself flows underneath the decking, ensuring the fish can be easily view able from inside the sala, or from the terrace.
(Picture above: the pond has multiple cascading levels, with the water flowing down from just below the window level of the house). Fish populate the pond, which was finished with natural mountain rock, lotus plants, a selection of other water plants and general low maintenance greenery.
A grooved, wood plastic composite decking is now the walkway up to the steps of the home. The real wood Thai style sala gives a nice place to sit and relax in the shade, and is also the housing for the filter system, accessible via hatches made in the decking.
