Thai Garden Design just recently completed this new tiled terrace within an ex-show house on a well known estate in the Huay Yai area of Pattaya. The owners contacted the team to inquire about tiling over their existing tiled terraces, and at the same time extending the terrace onto the grass areas at the main entrance garden and around the entirety of the pool.
The team visited and performed a site survey, and a design was drawn up. As the owners were abroad, this was vital so that complete understanding of the areas were mutual. After several amendments the job could be accurately costed, and a date booked.
The idea was to negate all grass areas around the main L shape of the home, as they were generally unusable and attracted bugs etc. With the complete area tiled, this opened up the outside areas of the house, and connected seamlessly to the pool.
The concrete levels were matched to the existing terraces, so the whole area could be completed with one type of tile, which was chosen by the owners after being offered various options. The type of tile that was chosen is completely non-slip and with a very nice colour which matches well with the house.
Once the tiled terrace area was completed, the pool has become much more accessible, and looks far more inviting than before. Also the team re-connected the sprinkler system (which was non-operational) and flattened off the remaining grass areas and relaid new turf. A small plant list also added nicely to the final garden.
