Pornchai Garden, Thailand's favourite Landscaping and Garden Design Company, recently installed this hardwood decking around an existing traditional Thai sala at a residence just outside of Bangkok.
The team began the process by designing the walkway layout with the owner, and then by preparing and building the foundations for the deck.
The wood used in the build was chosen for its strength, durability, suitability and fit with the existing sala and landscape. The wooden walkways main purpose was to act as an attractive and aesthetic connection with the main thoroughfare (above picture – background) and the traditional sala, the main house and garden. Thai ornaments, pots and planting were also advised on, sourced, supplied and installed by the Pornchai team. The gaps between the walkways were decorated with different plant species, colours, large rocks, trees and ornaments; with each element selected with the traditional thai garden style in mind.
