The Team at Thai Garden Design just designed and installed this attractive low maintenance garden for an Expat in the Bang Na area of Bangkok. The home located within a new housing estate came with the standard garden package, grass, a few side plants and some token trees.
The owners travel extensively, and so wanted a landscaped garden that would be low maintenance, as well as usable and tropical. A few ideas were discussed and increasing shade was important, so two shade pergolas were designed for both the front porch area, and the side of the house (midway through build, above picture).
All the grass was removed, and in it's place a selection of rustic brickwork, pea gravel, fine gravel and large granite pavers were installed (picture above).
Part of the install also included an automatic sprinkler system, Hunter brand, programmed to run during the early morning and late evening. This remains set and operational whilst the owners are away.
The side pergola has a raised deck, which would provide a nice area for morning breakfast or dining. The privacy wall makes the area completely private from all the neighbours. Both pergolas also came fitted with down lights and large central fan, with a professional electrical installation as standard.
The owners were very happy with the final result, a complete garden, lots of nice features, low maintenance and designed to specification. If you own a garden space in Thailand, which could do with some improvements, contact the team at Thai Garden Design for a friendly and professional service.
